I have got an opportunity to get dharshan of the holy deity of JP Nagar Shiva
Temple, Lord Shiva- the lord of Moksha.
The roof of sanctum sanctorum of the temple is constructed in a design of
lotus, which having a beautiful sight. The more interesting fact is that the
greenery around the temple which gives a cool , peaceful atmosphere. It is
difficult to see such a cool and peaceful worshiping place in a Metropolitan
city anywhere.
The much interesting thing is that, the priest of the temple given me the
Prasad, I surprised on seeing that, that were 6 big size Rudrakshas. Rudraksha
seeds considered to be a very auspicious thing in India by Hindus. The name for
this seed came from Sanskrit as Rudra is Lord Shiva and Aksha is eyes, in full
the eye of lord Shiva. not only that, many consider it having cosmic powers of
healing, harmony, health and keeping mind cool. Rudrakshas are used as beads
for organic jewellery and mala and are valued similar to semi-precious
stones. It is difficult to get the original Rudraksha from market due to its
availability, the same reason it is costly also. The Rudraksha trees are found
in hill forests only, mostly in Himalayan ranges and rarely in Nilgiri hills.
On surprise I asked the priest, how he could give me this precious Rudraksha,
that also in numbers. Then he shown me the source of it, all the trees
surrounding the sanctum sanctorum of the temple are Rudraksha trees, and the
seeds getting from the fruits of tree every day are used to be given as prasad
to devotees. The fruits are looks like blue berry and ripen fruits taste sweet
and a mix of bitterness.
it was a wonderful and blessed moment in my life on visiting and spending a
little time there.
